                      DABELI (Mumbai Street Food)





            
Dabeli is a popular snack food of Indian originating from Kutch Gujarat.It is a popular street snack that can be easily found in Gujarat and Mumbai. It is made by mixing boiled potatoes with  dabeli masala and meethi chutney and putting the mixture between the  pav.

Ingredients:

  • Pav - 4 pcs
  • Dabeli Masala - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Meethi Chutney - 1/2 cup
  • Garlic Chutney - 1 1/2 tsp 
  • Potato - 4 boiled and mashed
  • Onion - 2 chopped
  • Pomengrate - 1/2 cup
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Masala Peanut  - 1/2 cup
  • Butter - For toasting dabeli
  • Nylon sev - 1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tsp


Method:


  • Heat 2 tsp oil in a non stick pan and  add 4 boiled and mashed potato.
  • Then add dabeli masala, meethi chutney, garlic chutney and salt in a pan.
  • Mix it well to get smooth mixture.
  • Cover it and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame.
  • Then turn off the flame and put the potato masala on to a plate and  let it be cool.
  • Garnish the potato masala with pomengrate seed, masala peanut and coriander leaves.
  •  Then cut the pav in between so that you can flip it open.
  • Then apply meethi chutney and garlic chutney on both sides of pav.
  • Apply a spoonful of potato masala in between the pav.
  • Stuff the top with onion and nylon sev.
  • Brush the tawa with a butter and toast the dabeli until it turns crispy on both sides.
  • And then serve it.
